North East England
Hello and welcome to the North East of England PIPE branch!
"The North East of England is a world centre of technical know-how and practical experience for the pipeline industry. The region is home to some of the sector's leading companies as as well as the renown masters degrees in pipeline and subsea engineering at Newcastle University, one of only a handful of institutions worldwide to offer such courses. We are particularly proud of the role we play in introducing industry veterans to student engineers, the next generation of pipeline professionals.
The North East England Branch (NEE) hosts a variety of events including technical and social gatherings. We pride ourselves on providing the best venues, food and drink for our events. In July 2010 (NEE) PIPE members hosted an evening cruise along the historic banks of the River Tyne welcoming aboard delegates to the world's first forum on the transportation of captured CO2 by pipeline which was held in our region. Our technical paper sessions are held in the sumptuous lecture theatre of the Neville Hall, a Grade II listed building and home of the North of England Mining Institute.
(NEE) PIPE is fast becoming the home of pipeline engineering in our region."
